So I was under the impression the launchpad as external programmer trick would work on the whole MSP430G2 range?
I'm pretty new to MSP430 so I was hoping to use Energia to get started, but it appears it cannot program my external chip. Now I may have wired things up wrong, but I've connected RST, TEST and GND and VCC from the launchpad to my msp430g2203, made sure that RST is not tied high, and have confirmed the pins are connected. But I can't select the right board in energia, and it doesn't appear to find the device anyway.
Am I just barking up the wrong tree here? What is the preferred method for programming these?
